Birth stories

Birth stories, everyone’s got one. The story of what happened when we arrived kicking and screaming in the world is the same story as everyone else has and is unique to each one of us.

Some of us came cesarian, some of us breech, some of us were planned and some of us were a surprise. We were born in hospitals, bedrooms, taxis and under trees.

We came out smiling, screaming and quiet. We were hairy and bald, pink and pale but sometime, very soon after emerging we, all of us, took our first breath and were alive in the world.

Some of us knew ourselves welcomed with joy, some of us are not so sure of that welcome and some of us arrived with no welcome at all. And yet here we all are, each of us, no matter who we say we are now and what we have planned for ourselves, we have each traveled the short, dangerous  journey down the birth canal and emerged blinking in the light. And whatever value we put on our lives right at this moment, we are the witnesses and recipients of a stunning miracle.

To remind you of this miraculous event have a look at these birth stories.
